Welcome to gay Palm Springs.  Over the past several years, the Palm Springs area has become a preferred gay retirement community on the west coast.  Current estimates are that approximately 40% of the permanent population of Palm Springs is now comprised of gay men and lesbian women.  Our Mayor, Ron Oden, is a black gay man, and we have a gay city councilman, Steve Pougnet, and a lesbian concilwoman, Ginny Foat.
